Filter clean

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) filters or cartridge filters require cleaning a minimum of twice a year.  Arizona Pool Stuff recommends cleanings at Easter and Thanksgiving.  Cleaning the filter requires the filter to be taken apart and either the DE grids or the cartridge elements are removed and cleaned of debris.  O-rings (depending on the filter) are checked and replaced as necessary.  Filter cleans take approximately one hour from start to finish.

Filter cleans are required to maintain proper water filtration and if not cleaned on a regular basis, can lead to high filter pressure.  High filter pressure can cause reduced pool cleaner operation and possible broken grids (DE) or collapsed cartridge filter elements.
